A few hints and tips regarding domain names:
* A good domain name wants to be easy to read, easy
to remember, and you want all the variations.
* If you are a start-up, the best time to think about
your domain name is now, before you finalise your business
name.
* If you are struggling to find a good domain name,
invent your own word.
* Make sure that your provider is a reputable company
that has been trading for some years.
* Ensure that once you have registered your domain
name, you are allowed to transfer it to another provider
* If possible, Keeping your Hosting Service separate
and distinct from your Domain Registrar.
* Register all the variations you want, but only actually
use one of them. Most host / ISPs do not charge you
for "parking" a domain name, so if there are
say 5 variations on the name you like, register all
five and "park" four of them.
* Be sure to put your name as Administrative Contact;
this indicates who is authorized to act on behalf of
the actual owner, as opposed to the Technical Contact,
which is usually somebody at the ISP who's responsible
for maintaining the name servers.
